All of us at Oregon Center for Change are committed to conducting our programs safely. We know that we can’t completely eliminate all risks of disease transmission. Here’s what we’ve done to make our treatment activities as safe as possible for our clients and staff.
During the initial lock-down period (March 16 – June 8, 2020) we closed our office. Professional staff worked from home with clients who continued their treatment via Zoom or telephone.
We were able to re-open the office for in-person treatment sessions June 8, 2020, after making extensive changes to comply with direct advice given to us by the State of Oregon Epidemiologist and Oregon OSHA.
State- and county-mandated health restrictions loosened in the Spring of 2022 and again in the Spring of 2023. Accordingly, we also relaxed our protocols, but we’re continuing the following safety measures:
- Any office visitors who report COVID symptoms or exposure are directed to leave the office and quarantine
- Staff members with possible symptoms of COVID are required to stay home, with pay
- Clients who have contracted COVID or who are in quarantine following a documented exposure to an infected person are required to stay out of the office until they provide a note from a physician clearing them. Clients with legitimate COVID-related absences are exempted from attendance requirements and are excused from any penalties or no-show fees.
- Every staff member and graduate student working at OCC must be fully vaccinated
- Every client has been urged to get vaccinated; most have been vaccinated
- We operate HEPA/ultraviolet/electrostatic air filter units in all treatment of the office, exchanging room air 3-5 times each hour
- The building owner added HEPA filters to the ventilation system
- Hand sanitizing stations are available
- Bright red tape on the carpet marks furniture placement to enable consistent, but more relaxed. social distancing
Because our treatment center is a healthcare facility, all of these safety measures continue to this day.
To our knowledge, there has been no disease transmission in our offices. We intend to keep it that way.
If a local resurgence of infection and hospitalization occurs, we are ready to rapidly reinstate our more strict transmission-prevention protocols.
